Davido Announces His Scholarship Programme for University Students
Davido is
expanding his philanthropic reach beyond cash and jewelry, the newly signed RCA
Records artiste has decided to invest in the critical educational sector.
The original ‘Omo
Baba Olowo’ is setting up a foundation- Veronica Adeleke
Education Scholarship program, in honour of his late mother which will
kick off this year. And he has promised to sponsor students to the university
every year through its machinery.
The ‘Aye’ singer
who also has a multi-million dollar deal with Sony BMG, took to his instagram
to share his latest philanthropic endeavour stressing that “so may
people deserve education.” HE announced that he will start the
scholarship programme with 4 students this year and continue as the years
progress.
“So many people deserve education. Starting from this year I plan to start the Veronica Adeleke Education Scholarship program. I plan to send people to school every year … I’m starting from 4 students this year details will be released soon on how to apply…. DO YOUR PART TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER, EVEN IF YOU START SMALL. AT LEAST START! OBO!” he captioned a picture of himself beach-side as he made the announcement.
This
announcement comes days after Davido took to instagram to celebrate his father,
Chief Adeleke, revealing that over 100 students who recently graduated
from the billionaire’s privately owned- Adeleke University were on various scholarship
programmes sponsored by the older Adeleke.
“Too proud of
my father,” God bless you for all of us, sir. Love you too much!”
Davido had remarked when he shared the news.
It’s good to see
that the billionaire heir who continually breaks ground in the music industry
is vested in educating the youths of this nation.
More grease to
your elbow, Davido. We are mighty proud of you!
