Bizarre: Residents in Shock as Mystery Coffin ‘Appears’ in Front of Palace in Ghana
The residents
and traditional rulers of Fumesua, a suburb of Kumasi in Ghana, were left in
shock after they discovered a casket in front of the Fumesua palace.
According to Modern
Ghana, no one has come to claim ownership of the casket and the chief of
Fumesua, Nana Esua Amoako was absent at the palace when the casket was
found. The Police was however, called to the scene as one of the
sub-chiefs poured libation before opening the casket to see what was inside.
The casket
reportedly contained two bottles of schnapp, black and red calico and a letter
allegedly from a group called ‘Concerned Citizens.’
The letter was
addressed to the town chief, Nana Esua Amoako, appealing to him to
consider returning a plot of land used as a cemetery that he allegedly sold to
a private developer without conducting due diligence.

The letter also
stated that the private contractor had committed a taboo by
using heavy machines to clear the whole land and he
had deposited all the sand and the corpses buried in the land at
an unknown place. In addition, it berates the chief for failing to
perform any rituals on the land before proceeding with
the developments. The Concerned Citizens believe this was
the cause of the death of children, youth and middle aged citizens of
Fumesua.
They have also
invited the town chief to attend a meeting of the group which will be
taking place on Sunday, July 24, to “support morally and spiritually”
discussions. The sub-chiefs of Fumesua are currently treating the incident
as a spiritual issue and have called for a meeting to look into the matter.
