Breaking: Le Guen ‘Rejects’ Eagles Job – Punch
There has been
an unexpected twist in the search for a permanent coach for Nigeria’s Super
Eagles as Frenchman Paul Le Guen has reportedly rejected the offer, Punch
writes.
The Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF), on Monday, announced Le Guen as the new coach of the
senior national team after picking him from a 3-man shortlist that included
Belgian Tom Saintfiet and erstwhile interim manager Salisu Yusuf.
However, fresh
reports have emerged that the 52-year-old former France international has
rejected the offer because the Glass House failed to meet his terms and
conditions, according to Punch.
Herve Penot, a
reporter at influential French daily L’Euipe, broke the news on his Twitter
handle @hpenot_lequipe.
It reads in
English: “Paul Le Guen rejects Nigeria. Frenchman insists the country’s
FA (NFF) yet to meet terms & conditions to be coach.”
Neither the
Technical and Development Committee of the NFF, nor their official Twitter
handle (@theNFF) has responded to the shocking claim.
Details as they
unfold…
