Stephen Keshi’s Son Says Someone Fixed His Dad’s Funeral Without Their Consent: ‘We’ve not Even Seen His Corpse!

The late Stephen Keshi’s children have finally arrived Nigeria for the burial of their father, but his first son, Stephen Keshi Jr., has expressed surprise at how their father’s death has been handled.

According to Keshi Jr., unknown persons chose the date for his father’s burial rites without the consent of the children.

The 27-year-old events producer visited the NFF Secretariat yesterday to sign the condolence register.
According to Vanguard, here’s what he said afterwards:
“I just came into Nigeria on Tuesday night, and we read in the papers today that somebody has fixed a date for the burial.
I am shocked like my sisters and my brothers. Since our father died, nobody has spoken to us about how he died, and we have not even seen his corpse. Yet, someone is fixing a date for his burial!
We have only heard good and great words about our father since his death. I am going to Benin City now. The family will sit down and come up with a date for the funeral, but we also appreciate that he was a national figure and will harmonize our plans with that of the government and the NFF.”
The late Stephen Keshi passed on last week at the age 54. And the sad news came barely a year after the big boss lost his wife of 33 years, Kate, who died after a prolonged battle with cancer.
