Buhari Appoints Abdulkarim Dauda as new Chief Security Officer

PresidentMuhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed a new Chief Personal Security Officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdulkarim Dauda at a ceremony in Abuja.


The president seized the occasion to charge public officers entrusted with certain responsibilities to live up to their duties and justify the confidence reposed in them as this was the only way Nigeria can get out of the current hardships facing the nation, Premium Times reports.

Dauda, along with Kayode Sikiru Akande, were both recently promoted from the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police, with the latter to serve as Officer in Charge of Presidential Movement.

President Buhari, who decorated the newly promoted officers with their new ranks, congratulated them and urged them to live up to their new responsibilities by increasing their commitment to the service of the nation.

He also commended them for their hard work and achievements which brought about their promotion.

He said Nigeria needs their dedication and unwavering commitment for it to achieve greatness and assume its rightful position. He further charged them not to abuse their new positions but to go about their jobs with dignity and a sense of service.
