Olubadan of Ibadan passes on

The Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade, is dead.
The monarch passed on in his sleep about 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in his palace in Monatan, Ibadan, palace sources say.

Oba Odulana became Olubadan in 2007. He was the 17th Olubadan since the title was elevated from Baale Ibadan to the Olubadan in 1930.
He would have turned 102 in April having celebrated his 100th birthday in April 2014.

Some reports say the Personal Assistant to the late royal father, Chief Isiaka Akinpelu denied the death saying the monarch is alive and well.

Such denials are not unusual when monarchs pass on.
