Emenike, who plays for Turkish side, Fenerbahce but is currently on loan at United Arab Emirates’ Al Ain, is reported to have interested the EPL side and is now a target by the club before the closure of the January window.

Emenike, who resigned from the Super Eagles in 2015, is reportedly being considered alongside former Chelsea striker, Demba Ba andAlexandre Pato.

West Ham chairman, David Sullivan yesterday disclosed the caliber of striker the team is fishing for.
‘We are looking long-term for a 20-goals-a-season striker. There’s a possibility that a striker will come in on loan in the next seven days, with an option to buy,’ he said.

He disclosed further, ‘He’s an overseas striker. He has played in higher leagues but it may not happen. When they are all fit, we probably have too many strikers anyway.’
