‘Alcohol destroys more lives than drugs and rape’ –Filmmaker, Felix Olojede reveals

Fast rising filmmaker, Felix Olojede has disclosed that alcoholism is a serious issue which has destroyed more lives than rape, drugs, domestic violence and other societal ills.


The filmmaker was speaking at the media screening of his short film, ‘Drowning Fish’ which focuses on the effects of alcoholism and how it can be damaging to an individual’s life with ripple effects on those around him.


According to Felix, ‘across the globe, alcohol is the biggest killer of humans. Infact, it kills more than drugs and domestic violence joined together and has destroyed more lives than even rape.’

The filmmaker further disclosed that his movie, ‘Drowning Fish’ was made to pass a message across about the dangers of alcohol and how it can destroy one’s life.’

Also at the media screening were the writer, Yemi Eniolorunda,Abayomi Busari (Associate Producer) and Henry Arnolds who played the lead role.

Drowning Fish (F’elemu lagbe), which focuses on the ills and negative effects of alcohol, is a 24-minute short thriller about a photographer whose career and existence is threatened by his love for excessive drinking.


The short movie also stars veteran actor, Bimbo Manuel.
