In Nigeria’s ongoing war against corruption, President Muhammadu Buhari will not spare anyone who has a case to answer, and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, would face justice if guilty, presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, has said. A Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Olisa Metuh. The National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr Oilsa Metuh, at the Federal High Court,  where he is Standing Trial over Alleged N400m Fraud in Abuja The court however said Mr. Metuh is to provide a bail bond of N300 million, with two sureties each, with like sum. He added that the sureties should have assets within the FCT.

Twelve U.S. Marines missing after two military helicopters collided last week off Hawaii's Oahu Island have been listed as deceased, the military said on Thursday. The Coast Guard called off the search for the missing Marines on Tuesday after five days of search and rescue efforts across some 40,000 square nautical miles of ocean, along with shorelines. The Marines were officially classified as deceased on Wednesday and Marine Corps officers personally notified each family, a statement from the Marines said.

A civil servant has been caught on CCTV in a rather uncompromising position in the council office where he works. Footage captured by security cameras in the office appear to show the male member of staff having sex with a woman in a number of different rooms in the building. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has clarified that the N50 stamp duty imposed on bank customers is not per N1000 but on the whole amounts received as long as it is beyond N1000. About 183 Nigerians and 41 illegal migrants trying to sneak into the country have been arrested by the eastern naval command of the Nigerian Navy on Thursday, January 21, in Calabar, Cross River state. The illegal migrants who were on board a transport vessel were intercepted at the shoreline on its arrival from Gabon, according to Rear Admiral Atiku Abdulkadir, the flag officer commanding (FOC) of the command.

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, has directed all officers of the Nigerian Army who have not declared their assets to do so immediately, the Nigerian Army said in a statement Thursday. The spokesperson for the Army, Sani Usman, quoted Mr. Buratai, a lieutenant general, as giving the directive Wednesday during a conference with principal staff officers and Directors serving at the Army Headquarters.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday morning slammed a fresh two-count charge on the spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, over an alleged attempt by the politician to destroy a confessional statement made to its operatives. Attackers burst into classrooms and open fire at a university in northwest Pakistan, killing at least one teacher. Four of the attackers are known to have been killed at the campus building in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, in the country's northwest. Pakistan University Attacked Militants wielding AK-47s used a cover of thick, wintry fog to scale the walls of the Bacha Khan University in the town of Charsadda, about 30km (18 miles) from the city of Peshawar. They then went into university buildings and began to open fire on teachers and students in classrooms before engaging in a three-hour gunbattle with police and soldiers.  The attack happened at Charsadda in northwestern Pakistan Explosions were heard inside and TV pictures showed heavily armed security personnel heading into the compounds as female students ran for their lives.
