Fergie has dumped the iconic group Black Eyed Peas. According to Los Angeles Times, this was confirmed yesterday by the group’s frontman Will.i.am who said in a statement that the singer is now a solo artist. “ Fergie is family and will always be a Pea ,” he told LA Times, adding, “ She is focused on her solo album, which we fully support .” The group which burst into the spotlight as a hip hop group called Atban Klann later was rebranded to Black Eyed Peas. In 2002, Fergie joined the group. They have since dropped hit records that brought them multi-platinum successes. At least 36 people have been killed after a gunman stormed a casino in Manila, Philippines firing shots and setting gaming tables alight before burning himself to death. Most of the victims are believed to have suffocated on smoke from the fires as panicked guests and gamblers clambered over each other to flee the scene of what police have described as a botched robbery attempt. Chilling photos from the scene show victims lying down while others were seen being carried out of the building. Reuters  reports that the suspect, a white “English speaker”, raced into the Resorts World Manila complex shortly after midnight and fired an assault rifle at betting machines and TV screens, before pulling out a can of gasoline, pouring it over gaming tables and setting them ablaze. The Wachowskis’  Sense8  has been cancelled by Netflix after two seasons and one holiday special. Cindy Holland, VP of original content at Netflix, confirmed the cancellation in a statement published on the platform’s press blog. This marks Netflix’s second major series cancellation in as many weeks, with Baz Luhrmann’s incredibly expensive musical drama  The Get Down  (season 1 had an estimated budget of $120 million) cancelled last week. Luhrmann cited a personal conflict between his status as show runner and a pre-existing film directing contract with Sony for that cancellation, but Netflix CEO Reed Hastings implied at Code Conference yesterday that the show had also fallen short of viewership expectations. No fewer than 10 doctors sustained injuries after a clash with some security men at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Adebayo Sekunmade, President of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), told journalists that the doctors sustained the injuries as they attempted to take over their secretariat from the security men stationed there by the management of the hospital. Sekunmade said one of his members was ordered out of the association’s secretariat at 2 am on Tuesday by security men. “ We decided to monitor developments around the secretariat after the incident.
