Nollywood actor, Kalu Ikeagwu was reportedly arrested at his home in Ogba yesterday by some security agents. There were initial reports that the actor was kidnapped after his neighbours saw some gunmen whisk him away from his home yesterday afternoon at about 3:40pm. However, Encomium confirms that the newly-wedded actor was actually arrested in connection with a robbery and homicide case which took place in Abuja. According to reports, Kalu was taken to the police station for questioning as a result of a stolen phone he purchased which was connected to a robbery incident in Abuja where one of the victims was killed. Kalu had been approached in his home by the agents and had been invited for questioning but when he began to argue with them, the men brought out their guns before taking him away in a bus. Some Fulani men allegedly visited their menace in the countryside of Kogi State recently, savagely attacking a traveller, one Isaac Udoh, who is a Senior Account Officer at Obajana Cement as he travelled along the Obajana-Kabba road. Controversial singer, Miley Cyrus has made a rather surprising promise to herself – that she will NEVER walk the carpet again. Tragedy struck in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos state yesterday after a man, celebrating the Eid el-kabir, collapsed and died during a Shekpe (local gin) drinking competition. Vanguard reports that the man, identified as Onyibo, and some of his friends were competing on who would finish the largest quantity of  local gin, popularly called  shekpe . Onyibo reportedly consumed 13 small-sized plastic containers of the local gin, while the other eight competitors were on three, four, six and 10 plastics, respectively. It was when he was reportedly gulping down his 14th bottle that he started coughing. An eyewitness stated that he was immediately given water but he continued to cough and suddenly began to vomit blood before he slumped on the ground, dead. The economic slide took a new turn with reports that Nigeria recorded the biggest crude oil loses among its peers in the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in August. This is set to impede the gains of recent months that saw an upward movement in output and national revenues as a result a decline in the disruptive activities of pipeline vandals, Punch  writes. Nigeria had in March lost the status of Africa’s top oil producer to Angola when the country’s production dropped to 1.677 million barrels per day, compared to Angola’s 1.782 million bpd. However, OPEC’s Monthly Oil Market Report for September showed that Nigeria’s oil output fell to 1.468 million bpd in August from 1.52 million bpd in July, which has been the country’s biggest jump in output although it wasn’t enough to help the country regain the top spot from Angola. This decline also reflects the general performance of the cartel as OPEC crude oil production stood at 33.24 ...
