A gun and bomb attack on Istanbul's Ataturk airport has killed 41 people, at least 13 of them foreigners, and injured more than 230, officials say. Three attackers arrived in a taxi and began firing at the terminal entrance late on Tuesday. They blew themselves up after police fired back. PM Binali Yildirim said early signs pointed to so-called Islamic State but no-one has so far admitted the attack. Recent bombings have been linked to either IS or Kurdish separatists. In its bid to sanitize the environment and curb the menace of noise pollution, Lagos State on Wednesday shutdown 70 churches, 20 mosques and about 11 hotels, club houses and pubs,  Leadership reports. Bola Shabi, the General Manager, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), said the decision was in keeping with the state government’s stand on zero tolerance for noise pollution. “ Precisely about 70 churches, 20 mosques and about 11 hotels, club houses and beer parlours were shut and we’ve given them some directives to follow. We have been so strict now that we are not going to even allow make-shift churches in the state any longer,” he said.   “What I mean by make-shift: using tents and uncompleted building, we are not going to allow that any further in the state.   “But I will strongly tell you that the level of compliance is more on the mosque area, because immediately you shut them, they instantly bring down their speakers or reduce th...

Drake is reportedly shooting the official music video for his hit single  One Dance  featuring Wizkid and Kyla in South Africa but Wizkid is rumoured to not have been included in the video. Drake reportedly flew to South Africa last Friday and reports reaching us say that his trip to S.A was specifically to shoot the video of  One Dance . Yesterday, the 29-year-old made a stop at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory in Johannesburg, where he delivered a motivational speech to at least 80 students invited by the centre and the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation as part of Youth Month celebrations. The President of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (Edo state chapter) Maleke Idowu Moye is currently being treated at a police hospital after he was reportedly attacked by some thugs in Benin City. The NET reports that the musician/ comedian alleged he was almost injured while hanging out at a bar in Benin with his friend after a commotion was caused by the bar owner, who threw cash in the air.  He then stated that he returned to the bar the next day, to sensitize the owner identified as Kevin Joshua on how to treat customers when he was suddenly attacked by thugs wielding battle axes and guns. According to our sources, an angry mob took to Maryland to vandalise all BRT buses in sight following an unfortunate incident on Wednesday. Reports inform us that a BRT bus crushed a female hawker who was being chased by KAI officials (Kick Against Indiscipline) to death. This has caused heavy traffic in the metropolis with the corpse of the hawker still on the highway. The police is presently on the scene to forestall further violence and destruction of lives and properties. A video from the scene of the Maryland riot shows heavy traffic building up, and vandalised BRT buses by the Maryland Independence tunnel; testaments to the pandemonium that broke out after the accident. In a chilling case of bizarre murder, a mentally challenged man has been arrested in the Volta Region of Ghana for dismembering a 70-year-old farmer.
